Welcome to my corner of the internet, where each week I’ll be sharing my experiences in the natural world, particularly the goings-on across the green spaces of Merseyside.
Urban wildlife is so often overlooked, left by the wayside and quietly neglected. Yet in hidden corners of forgotten abundance, nature continues to adapt and thrive.
Wondrous wildflowers are mistaken for weeds. Pockets of ancient woodland still hold the secrets of centuries past. Old grasslands linger in verges, and ponds brim with aquatic mystery. Even cemeteries are alive, with mycelial networks threading unseen beneath our feet, connecting soil to plant through quiet fungal alchemy.
The buzzing bees, dramatic dragonflies, and beautiful butterflies still tell the tale of the wild within their wings.
Nature has not forgotten its importance. Perhaps it’s waiting for us to remember.
I hope this blog will not only help others reconnect with the Earth around us, but also raise awareness for the wildlife and spaces that deserve to be protected and preserved.
